This project involved working for the office fit-out and refurbishment company Insight Projects Ltd of Chertsey, Surrey who were appointed by DHL who were taking over the complete first floor of a high profile building called Eastworth House in Chertsey.
This first floor open plan area had existing mechanical services systems installed by the landlord. Insight Projects created a series of cellular offices to accommodate the DHL staff. The total floor space is 1500 square metres and a total of 22 offices were created.
The existing system had a 4-pipe fan coil coming off the existing landlords chilled and hot water systems. These were all ducted systems. Austin Broady Air Conditioning completed the following works:
- Modified the above ceiling ductwork to suit the new office layout.
- Adapted the control systems so each new office had its own independent controller sited within each office.
- Upgraded the buildings BMS system with new graphics and user capability i.e. it can now be turned on and off from the individual offices.
- Installed two new Toshiba DX air conditioning systems, in the Server room and the Training room. During this installation we had to liaise with the ground floor tenants, who were Samsung, to gain access through their premises to install pipework to the external compound.
